========================================== | HRP UPDATE PACK FOR EDUKE32 | | by NightFright | ========================================== | Version: 3.10 (Jul 15, 2008) | ========================================== WHAT THIS IS ABOUT: ------------------- This file contains data for updating the Duke3D High-Resolution Pack (HRP). It contains fixes and adds new or remade textures that have been released since the last official version of the HRP. So basic line is: First get the HRP, then this file. HOW TO USE IT: -------------- The pack comes as a (compressed) zip file. Since the HRP is an (uncompressed) zipfile as well, all you have to do is unpack the contents of my Update Pack to any place on your hard drive and add everything you unpacked to your HRP file. A) AUTOLOAD METHOD (RECOMMENDED) Since HRP v3 release, all you need to do with the HRP Update Pack is to drop it into the same subdir within the EDuke32 "autoload" folder as the HRP zipfile itself. It should be loaded automatically then. B) MANUAL LOADING If you still prefer manual loading by parameters, you can use the Update Pack as some kind of override, i.e. you just put it into your Duke3D directory (where your HRP zipfile is) and load it with an additional parameter *AFTER* the HRP. The updated content will then be used instead of the older files from the HRP. Syntax: [executable] /g[HRP file] /g[Update Pack] Example: E:\Duke3D\eduke32.exe /gduke3d_hrp.zip /ghrp_update.zip In case you use mods like the gorepack (SD_Duke mod) or maphacks, be sure to load them *AFTER* these zipfiles in order to maintain full functionality of all high-res contents. If you do otherwise, the compressed contents might cause slowdowns in the game due to increased loading times. - Updates of already existing textures might cause duplicates of the same image in different formats (JPEG or PNG).
